Growing up in a small town in North Wales, Nia Wyn found solace in old soul records she found in junk shops. Using these muses to craft songs of personal experience, this young artist, who possesses a remarkable voice, captures something vivid and compelling.
Nia’s talent for raw and powerful storytelling, set within a kind of unorthodox, engrossing vocal, marks her out against the backdrop of other emerging young female artists. Nia’s soulcrossover music has recently been featured on BBC Radio 2’s Blues Playlist, BBC Radio One and BBC Introducing and she has opened for Paloma Faith and Paul Weller.
Tipped by Huw Stephens as one of BBC Introducing’s ‘ones to watch’ in 2019 and a debut EP in the pipeline, this year is set to see big things for Nia.
