Teaming up with Yorkshire Cancer Research

We are thrilled to announce Yorkshire Cancer Research as our official Charity Partner. Our little family-run music and arts festival is teaming up with the independent charity which funds research and services to help more people in the Yorkshire region survive cancer. Yorkshire Cancer Research has an established relationship with Underneath the Stars; it’s a cause that our family team behind the festival – including Festival Ambassador and renowned folk artist Kate Rusby and Festival Director Emma Holling – are passionate about supporting.

Emma says, “We’re delighted to be working with Yorkshire Cancer Research as the Official Charity Partner of Underneath the Stars. The vital work they carry out is very close to our hearts – like so many people, our family has had its our own experiences of cancer and it’s important to us that we use the opportunity that comes with welcoming 5000 people to the festival to raise awareness of Yorkshire Cancer Research. As a local organisation, they understand how best to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in our region. Donations to the charity fund research that will improve lives of those affected by cancer.”

Yorkshire Cancer Research Director Jo Mornin, says, “Being the official charity partner of Underneath the Stars means we can raise awareness of our important research and services among a huge new audience and reach more people with our health and early diagnosis messages. But we also want to have lots of fun. So we’ll be bringing a whole host of fun activities for all ages to get involved with throughout the weekend. We’re incredibly grateful to Emma and the team for choosing to support Yorkshire Cancer Research at this year’s event.

Yay! Watch out for them over the weekend!
